Shoes maketh the (wo)man

In my bid to get out of debt I have been really good at not buying stuff that I don't absolutely need.

My shoes are a great case in point - I have been wearing what I have until it falls apart - Literally.

Off I trot to the shops to buy myself another pair of black shoes for work (see, necessity) & came. across. a. SALE!! On. Iron.Fist!

These shoes are gorgeous and oh-so-sexy (you will remember my post HERE about my first pair)

As luck would have it - they had my size in both pairs (2 for the price of 1) and I snapped them up before anybody else could snatch them out of my grubby little paws!

Are they just so pretty??

Ignore the chipped nailpolish!

Remember When - Rick Astley

When my brother & I were younger we got to choose a tape for Christmas - mine was Kylie Minogue.

My brother's was Rick Astley. (Quite funny now that my brother is so anti-pop)

She wants to dance with Me was a big hit and made it to Number 1 in 25 countries.

Seems that he didn't want to be known for his dance/pop music and in the 90's decided to become a more "soulful singer"
Cant say that helped him much seeing as we didn't really hear from him again.

After 1993, Astley decided to retire from the music industry at the young age of 27 deciding that family life was more important.
During Astley's time out of the music business, he raised his daughter Emilie, born in 1992.
For much of the 1990s and early 2000s, Astley remained largely out of the spotlight. One notable musical appearance by Astley during retirement was as a backing singer on The Lion King soundtrack in 1994

Where is he now?

During the summer of 2010, he became a radio DJ for London's Magic FM, presenting a Sunday show. Initially the contract was 8 weeks but he proved popular with listeners and his contract was extended till the end of the year

Who out there liked his music?

My name is... ?

Meet the new addition to our family

A week ago this little mister (persian) ambled into my house and instead of running away when I tried to shoo him, he stroked himself up against my leg and I melted.

He has made himself at home and is super lovable - I just dont have a name for him yet!

He has clearly been neglected & I am not sure if he ran away or got lost. Seems he's mine now!

I will ave to take him to a parlour to get him cleaned and brushed nicely - he has so mny sores on his back it is heartbreaking.

Squeaky is really not happy with this situation and still hides in the room all day - I really hope that he will come around because I hate knowing that he is so unhappy.

I read up on it & the experts say that it take time & not to rush it. I let Squeaky smell my hands so that he can get used to the scent, but he is still such a big baby.

I was thinking of calling him Freddy (after Freddy Prinze Jnr) Being a persian he is royalty after all...

3 weddings in 2 months....

.... and I know only 1 couple!

Being a bit chubby of late, none of my pretty dresses really fit me & these days I am not so sure what to wear because inevitably I get to a wedding and the guests are all a mishmash of clothing styles.

The last wedding said Smart dress and 3 women pitched up in jeans!

I am begging for enlisting the urgent help of you bloggers out there.

Wedding number 1: This Saturday (Tee asked me today thanks to her date dropping out at the last minute with a lame-ass excuse about having to work)

Wedding starts at 14:00, dress code Smart.
The one dress I could fit into (pink halterneck with sparkles*), I wore at her birthday party last year and all her family saw me in it & her mom commented on it.

Option 1: Other pink and white dress with handkerchief skirt*?
Option 2: Black pants with black top with silver sequins

Wedding number 2: 23 April, afternoon reception, dress code Smart Casual
These are old school friends - so I am under alot of pressure!

This is where I need your suggestions my blogging friends!!
What on earth do I wear to make a good impression and look great?
Is this my excuse to go out and buy that skirt from Big Blue (at R500 a pop nogal)

Wedding number 3: 21 May, evening portuguese wedding, dress code Smart
The portuguese usually go big, so I am guessing a cocktail dress would work here?
My pretty black dress definitely doesn't work, because I look and feel like a stuffed sausage.
My favourite burgundy dress from my 30th* - same sausage look and WAY too much cleavage!
Would my pink halterneck help me here?*

Looking forward to your suggestions my friends! Heck I feel wild & could say - give me the best wedding outfit & I will .... TA DA DAAA!!! ....send you a photograph of what I really look like GASP!

Yeah I know, not very motivating, but considering that I am an anonymous blogger, at least you will know what I look like!

*Wanna know what these dresses look like? Go HERE

What's new?

I am settling into my new place nicely - I was never happy in the place I stayed & it is such a relief to love where I live.

I have bit the bullet & raped my credit card (you could literally hear her begging for mercy) & bought my lovely couch AND a little patio set to entertain my friends.

Chairs, cushions & lamp - Mr Price Home
Table - Builders Warehouse, assembled by me

Couch coricraft
Cushions - Mr Price Home

I know the couch should have been neater - but I am surrounded by my gadgets - laptop, iPrincess and BB - note how well they fit in with their surroundings?

The table has seen lots of action, I have already had BeBe & AC over for dinner, then I hosted bookclub (Easter theme) and on Friday I had M over for a braai as well - busy times!

I also bought a lovely lampshade for my bedroom and hopefully I will find that perfect bedding to go in my room - I have a gift voucher from Christmas, just dying to be spent.

I want to make my bedroom colours silver and purple.

I would just like to thank Mr Price Home for making it all so affordable! The purple cushions are covers I bought and used with some existing cushions - which saves alot of money.

They have amazing things in-store at the moment - I was tempted to make my lounge turquoise & brown because they had the most gorgeous cushions in those colours - go check it out!

No Strings Attached

A guy and girl try to keep their relationship strictly physical, but it's not long before they learn that they want something more.

I am a huge fan of Ashton & I love the characters he plays - the man who is Uber-sexy but also has a softer side (ever notice how his eye well up with tears when he is doing an emaotional scene?)

Not really a fan of Natalie Portman - but I have to hand it to her - she is a brilliant actress & I simply adored this movie!

One of the better scenes was the full on naked Ashton bum as he walked out the room - Wowser!! - those dimples made me drool

If you are unsure as to whether you want to watch the movie - check out this trailor ( the entire movie is as good as the trailor)

Oh my hat - she's back!

Hello Blogger-verse, how is everybody doing?

Can you belive how the time has flown?

Things have been a whirlwind of drama, work and more work!

Lying in bed with a bad case of almost-pneumonia, I finally get the chance to update properly.

Lots going on in my life - I can't wait to share it with you!

I will tell you more about my overseas trip once I can figure out how to get all the Notes off my iPad onto my pc.

Note to any future iPad owners out there - make sure you get the one with 3G - without Wi Fi access, your iPad is just one giant iPod Touch - trust me!

So speaking of iPad - have a look at my beauty - I fell in love with her while overseas (because they have wifi at most places)

Why do I love her?

  1. When I read books I don't need a light as she is backlit
  2. I can update Twitter in a really fun application.
  3. Thanks to IMO I can chat to all my contacts on Skype, MSN, Facebook, Google, you name it - all in 1 application!
  4. She makes my photos of my future husbands look devine.
I named her: iPrincess

Husband #1

Husband #2

iPrincess at the back

Don't you just love her pink cover?

I spent hours agonising over which cover to take; the nifty leather cover that also enables her to stand up, or this pink rubber cover that looks pretty.

I kept asking myself:

I am 31, and a career woman - the leather one is what I should take isnt it?

But you are only 31 - you are young and funky, take a cover that suits your personality.

But I am 31, this is more mature

But you love pink and it will match your Blackberry!

Pink it was!!

It;s all about accessoising Dah-lings!
