The Ram - Chinese Forecast for 2010

This was my Chinese horoscope for the year 2010 for the Ram (thats me!):

The good news is that 2010 will be a very positive year for Rams, because they will be able to gain some important qualities that they were lacking before, such as cunningness, quick wit, and the ability to benefit from various situations. Ram people will be able to reach new heights in creativity, which will result in future professional growth. The second half of the year will be less fortunate. Rams may have to face some financial struggles, and they will have to work harder than they would like to. Rams may have to put some of their ambitious plans on hold. However, by the end of 2010, the Ram's commitment and professionalism will attract prosperity.

Eerily - very true!

Christmastime!

My Christmas ornaments have come out of the closet last night.

I am a bit late - usually I am the 1st 1 setting up my decorations because I love Christmas time so much!

I am a huge Jim Shaw fan. These ornaments are timeless and every year I have tried to add at least 1 to my collection.
The big Father Christmas is 1 of those ball types that rocks but never falls over. The kitty cat was from Alex a few years back.
I hope to find at least 1 more this year.

I would like to pass these down to my kids and grandkids (if I do decide to pop some babies out)
I love the tradition of having something special that lasts for generations.

Christmas Wishes

With times being tough all around I actually have a simple wish list this year:

Foundation - mine is finished.
Flat black "ballet" pumps - mine have seen better days
Pretty girly slip slops - Ipanema has nice ones - mine are broken
Lime Green, Lumo Pink Nail polish for fingers and toes
Little Black and white Cardigan - to wear over some of my casual clothes to "workify" them. That way I don't have to buy new work clothes, just revamp some existing clothes.
A new handbag - preferably Guess but I might be settling for something ALOT cheaper*
Duvet set - mine are all over 4 years old and looking very sad.

* My parents need a break away. I am worried that my dad is working too hard trying to make ends meet and instead me being selfish and wanting an extremely overpriced bag, I would like to take that R1000 and let them use it for a little holiday break.
My dad is 66 and still works full time. He drives around the country alot and I figured that on 1 of his trips to Durban or Cape Town they can use the money for accommodation at a little B&B and have some money for dinner.
That is my plan - I always buy them a present from Father Christmas - and I reckon this year, Father Christmas does not need a Guess handbag!

Wisdom

Heather over at Simply Living posted such a beautiful entry that I had to "steal" from her and post here. (Hope you dont mind Heather!)

Wisdom

"People are often unreasonable, irrational and self-centered. Forgive them anyway.

If you are kind, people may accuse you of selfish, ulterior motives. Be kind anyway.

If you are successful, you will win some unfaithful friends and some genuine enemies. Succeed anyway.

If you are honest and sincere, people may deceive you. Be honest and sincere anyway.

What you spend years creating, others can destroy overnight. Create anyway.

If you find serenity and happiness, some may be jealous. Be happy anyway.

The good you do today will often be forgotten. Do good anyway.

Give the best you have, and it will never be enough. Give your best anyway.

In the final analysis, it is between you and God. It was never between you and them anyway!!!"

Celebrating their Curves

I adore these photos.

I have always had a secret dream to get styled and dressed up and here is the perfect example of how stunning a woman is, no matter what her shape.

Oh how I wish Marilyn Monroe's curvy figure was back in fashion - I would be uber-fashionable!
