Holiday at the Sea

QT & I decided to take a break from it all and come to Ballito for a holiday.

Landed last night after some drama with my ear - not the sore ear - that 1 behaved itself.
My left ear is feeling left out and decided to give me some pressure. Not. Cool.

Wake up this morning with grand plans for the beach and ... the beach.... and the beach.
Overcast. Windy. Cold. = Flirty30. Grumpy

We have watched 2 dvds and now as I catch up on everybody's blog and search for a full track download of I like it by Enrique Iglesias and Pitbull (I really want that song - REALLY) QT is making dinner for us.
1st meal he has cooked for me - I am very excited!

I am behind with the photo challenge, but will catch it all up when we are back on Monday.

1 of my addictions - Sunnies & Specs....

What do all these sunglasses have in common?

They belong to me!
I have an addiction to pretty sunglasses - this is an expensive habit, which makes me very fortunate to have worked at an optometrist to get most of these given to me.

I love sunglasses, and because I am supposed to wear glasses - it is not always possible to wear every style out there - unless it can be scripted (put your prescription into the sunglasses) or wear contact lenses (not always ideal due to dry eyes).

So sometimes I go blind just to be able to wear a pretty pair of sunglasses.

Breakdown of my sunglasses:
  1. Pink Silhouette - made from Titanium, super bendy and very lightweight
  2. Black Diesel - these are comfy
  3. Burgundy Vogue - this style is very flattering for a square face like mine
  4. Black Giorgio Armani - 1 of my favourite because of the Black and White logo on the side
  5. Burgundy Oakley - these are gorgeous because of the pattern on the side, but do get a bit heavy after a few hours of wearing them
  6. Black gradient tint Emporio Armani - lovely diamante detail on the temple (arm)
  7. Pinkish/ purple Emporio Armani oversized shades
And these are my prescription glasses!

I am supposed to wear glasses all the time - but I don't.
I think I look funny in glasses.
So if I walk past you in a shopping centre & dont respond to your wave or smile - its not because I am rude, it's because I didn't see you!

I was also lucky enough to receive most of these as a gift from the Armani rep because I always sold them so well.
You will notice that I am an Armani Girl through and through!

I find that Armani seem to have the nicest styles and the comfort and quality is really good.
Armani are imported by a company called Safilo and they are also importers for Gucci, Dior, Diesel & YSL to name a few.

These are my spectacles:

  1. Jonathan Skeats - purple semi rimless
  2. Silhouette - also titanium - rimless and superlight - can be cut into any shape you like - these have lasted me 11 years without breaking
  3. Emporio Armani 2 tone black and orange plastic frame - love the detail on the side and always get compliments on these
  4. My current favourite - Guess semi rimless- I bought these for the pretty buckle detail on the side and the pink leopard print - aren't they gorgeous?
  5. Emporio Armani - you cant see it in the photo - but they have glitter in the pink plastic - I was hooked immediately!
  6. Funky purple Jonathan Skeats - these have a funky curvy temple which I loved.
  7. My burgundy Emporio Armani - an all time favourite
  8. Purple Koali - the only frames I made a mistake in taking - I didn't wear these very long, too round for me
And that is my glasses addiction obsession collection!

Me # 15: your favourite shape

I adore hearts - probably because I am such a romantic.

I have these hearts all over my room - my mom bought each one of them for me.

I have lots more where that came from - they are competing with my cat ornaments! ;-)

Uniquely Me - Love & Stuff

Today we find out more about Love & Stuff

Love & Stuff is a South African based in the beautiful Cape - Stellenbosch.
I love her Blog and I am sure you will too.

1: Where were you born?

I was born in Tygerberg Hospital, where my mother worked as a nurse, but soon after we moved
to a small town called Hexvalley, De Doorns in the Boland. It’s a teeny tiny place with one traffic
light situated at the school entrance, a church and a Spar. It’s your typical small town vibe where
we walked to school; played cricket in the street till dark, and everyone knew your business.
We are however the largest exporters of Grapes in SA, and the valley is just breathtaking.

2: What made you start a blog?
I always dreamed of being a writer or editor of a fabulous magazine. When I realized this would never
happen I got terribly depressed. Then I thought of Blogging. It’s my way of filling the gaping hole left
by a dream not quite achieved.

3: How did you meet your Boyf?
It was the final show of the band Lukraaketaar (or so they said. They had quite a few more after
this) in the Mystic Boer Stellenbosch. The lead singer was a friend of the boyfriends and they got
a great spot in the front. My friend sort of knew the boyfriend and decided to use this so we could
squeeze in on the front row action. We hit quite a few places after that, got a little tipsy, and eventually
kissed. Didn’t hear a word from him after that and wrote ‘what I thought was a nice guy’ off. Then
two weeks later we accidently bumped into each other, almost 4 years later and still completely
loved up. (PS He said he didn’t call me for 2 weeks because it was exams and he didn’t want to
be distracted. I still tease him about this saying He just wasn’t that into me. It annoys him terribly)

4: Which book are you currently reading?
I am struggling through The girl with the Dragon Tattoo. Everyone went gaga over this book but I’m
finding it quite difficult to get stuck into. Got a few pages left and then I’d like to start with Eat, Pray,
Love as I am probably the only person left who has not read this book.

5: If you were stuck on a deserted island, which 3 things would you want with you?
The boyfriend, chocolate, and Elizabeth Arden 8hour cream

6: What would you like people to remember you for?
My kind heart (and impeccable taste *wink*)

7: Describe your personality in 2 words?
Passionate, Self conscious

8: Describe your personal fashion style:
Versatile! One day I’ll be a girly girl the next a tomboy. But I do like discovering new ways to wear
something old or boring; I try not to wear the same look twice. Above all, comfort is key. (Hence the
lack of high heels in the cupboard)

9: If you were a Barbie Doll what would your name be?
The Eliza Doolittle Barbie (it’s what my mom called me growing up)

10: When was the last time you cried?
The last episode of Army Wives, they really do milk it for every last tear.

Me # 14: Your toes

Excuse the puffiness - I have been stuck in bed the whole weekend and I guess the Pharmacy of pills I am on is not helping!

Me #13: Something that Sparkles

My Sketchers from QT

You can't see the Sparkle so well in the photo - all the grey areas are actually glitter :-)
