Remember When - Rick Astley

When my brother & I were younger we got to choose a tape for Christmas - mine was Kylie Minogue.

My brother's was Rick Astley. (Quite funny now that my brother is so anti-pop)

She wants to dance with Me was a big hit and made it to Number 1 in 25 countries.

Seems that he didn't want to be known for his dance/pop music and in the 90's decided to become a more "soulful singer"
Cant say that helped him much seeing as we didn't really hear from him again.

After 1993, Astley decided to retire from the music industry at the young age of 27 deciding that family life was more important.
During Astley's time out of the music business, he raised his daughter Emilie, born in 1992.
For much of the 1990s and early 2000s, Astley remained largely out of the spotlight. One notable musical appearance by Astley during retirement was as a backing singer on The Lion King soundtrack in 1994

Where is he now?

During the summer of 2010, he became a radio DJ for London's Magic FM, presenting a Sunday show. Initially the contract was 8 weeks but he proved popular with listeners and his contract was extended till the end of the year

Who out there liked his music?

Remember When - The Wonder Years

What would you do if I sang out of tune?
Would you stand up and walk out on me?

Ah that song brings back memories!

Kevin Arnold - Lead played by Fred Savage

Fred Savage was born July 9, 1976. he began acting at age 9 with Jay Underwood in The Boy Who Could Fly. At the age of twelve, he was cast the lead role of the series The Wonder Years. It became a good show, and on the pilot, he got his first kiss.

Paul Pfeiffer - Supporting role played by Josh Saviano

Despite Internet rumors, Saviano did not grow up to be Marilyn Manson. In fact, he graduated from Yale with a degree in political science before going on to get his law degree. He is currently an associate at a New York law firm. (and turned out to be not too bad looking)

Did you know?
Bart Simpson's best friend Milhouse Van Houten is based on his character from "The Wonder Years".

Winnie Cooper - supporting actress played by Danica McKellar

(She is gorgeous)

Danica McKellar made her breakthrough at the early age of 12. After that show ended, she went on to graduate Summa cum Laude from UCLA with a degree in Mathematics, and even proved a new math theorem, the Chayes-McKellar-Winn Theorem.

Since returning to acting, Danica became familiar again to audiences from her year-long turn as the sardonic, dry-witted Elsie Snuffin on "The West Wing" (1999) in its 4th season.

These guys have proven that being a child actor doesn't have to ruin you if you do it properly!

Remember When - Murder She Wrote

When I was a little girl, we used to settle down in front of the TV and enjoy this murder mystery series.

Wherever Jessica Fletcher went - there was always a murder!

I dug up a recent photo of her (she is still acting in movies & theatre) as well as some really interesting facts:

Born 16 October 1925

In an interview with Barbara Walters, Lansbury revealed a firestorm that destroyed the family's Malibu home in September 1970 was a blessing in disguise, as it prompted a move to a rural area in Ireland, where her children were separated from the hard drugs with which they had been experimenting.

Her daughter, Deirdre, had reportedly been briefly involved with the Manson Family.

Her son Anthony Shaw, after a brief fling with acting, became producer/director of Murder, She Wrote and currently is a television executive and director.

Both her brothers, twins Bruce and Edgar, are successful theater producers: Edgar Lansbury, Jr. was instrumental in bringing Godspell to Broadway and Bruce Lansbury was a television producer for such shows as The Wild Wild West and Mission: Impossible

Lansbury has received eighteen Emmy Award nominations over a thirty-three-year period, and holds the record for the most losses by a performer

Now look at how stunning she was as a young actress:

She is scheduled to co-star in Mr. Popper's Penguins opposite Jim Carrey and Adeline opposite Katherine Heigl. Both films are to be released in 2011

Remember When - Ralph Macchio

aka: Daniel-san

Look how grown up he is?

Ralph Macchio was actually in his early 20's when he played Daniel LaRusso in the Karate Kid series.

He was born in November 1961 and is still married (1987) and has 2 children (Son named Daniel san)

For those of you who watch Ugly Betty - you might recognise him as Archie Rodriguez, a local politician, with a semi-regular role as Hilda's love interest on the show.

I really feel old!
