Trendy... me?

I have put on ALOT of weight recently and as a result - none of my clothes fit me, especially not my jeans. And I refuse to buy Fat Jeans

Going out and even going to work has become a bit of a mission because I have had the same winter clothes going on 3 years now and my shoes were all chucked when I moved because last winter they were already past their prime.

So this weekend was a huge shopping spree attempting to find clothes & to be trendy as well.

I came across the cutest dress from Edgars and some stunning "fuck me" boots (quoted by a work colleague) Added a pair of black tights and it was quite a nice ensemble.

Mom cut my hair for me and I decided to also go against what I normally do and I cut a fringe along with my layers. I recently started doing my nails again with Bio Sculture Gel and it feels good.
I feel like I am revitalised  and I am loving my new look!

The Kind Hearted Blogger Pledge

This is something I like to see & participate in.

AS A KIND-HEARTED BLOGGER I PLEDGE TO:
•create, inspire, and admire rather than compete with fellow bloggers

•be understanding of each other-- in the blogging community, as well as in the world

•stay away from internet/blogging bullying

•speak my opinion freely, while still being mindful of other's feelings-- be tactful.

•make an effort--no matter how big or small the gesture, to spread kindness or joy to others

•acknowledge that I will make mistakes, (I am only human) but remember to learn from them

•know that at times I will post about the negative stuff in life, and maybe even some complaining (I am only human) but I will always follow up with something happy/positive too.

•believe that this world is a good place, filled with good people

The reason for Easter

I realise Easter has come & gone, but catching up on my emails - I found this & just had to share....

"Still He Walked"

He could hear the crowds screaming "crucify" "crucify"...

He could hear the hatred in their voices,

These were his chosen people.

He loved them,

And they were going to crucify him.

He was beaten, bleeding and weakened...

His heart was broken,

But still He walked.

He could see the crowd as he came from the palace.

He knew each of the faces so well.

He had created them.

He knew every smile, every laugh, and every shed tear,

But now they were contorted with rage and anger

His heart broke,

But still He walked.

He felt alone.

His disciples had left, denied, and even betrayed him.

He searched the crowd for a loving face

And he saw very few.

Then he turned his eyes to the only one that mattered

Knowing that he would never be alone.

He looked back at the crowd...

At the people who were spitting at him

Throwing rocks at him and mocking him

And He knew that because of Him,

They would never be alone.

So for them, He walked.

The sounds of the hammer striking the spikes echoed through the crowd.

The cheers of the crowd, as his hands and feet were nailed to the cross,

Intensified with each blow.

And God's heart broke.

He had let His son walk.

Jesus could have asked God to end his suffering,

But instead He asked God to forgive.

Not to forgive him, but to forgive the ones who were persecuting him.

As he hung on that cross, dying an unimaginable death,

He looked out and saw, not only the faces in the crowd,

But also, the face of every person yet to be,

And his heart filled with love.

As his body was dying, his heart was alive.

Alive with the limitless, unconditional love he feels for each of us.

That is why He walked.

When I forget how much My God loves me,

...I remember his walk.

When I wonder if I can be forgiven,

...I remember his walk.

When I need to be reminded of how to live like Christ,

...I think of his walk.

And to show him how much I love him,

...I wake up each morning, turn my eyes to him,

......And I walk.

Wedding planning in Progress

It's no secret that I love weddings.
I even have a company on the side totally devoted to event planning, but weddings are my favourite.

This time, it is my brothers wedding - taking place in November & I am super-excited to be planning it for them!

So this is what we have so far:

Event Type: Daytime wedding (I hope they change their minds and have a late afternoon so we can utilise fairy lights or candles)
Colour scheme: Black & White and unknown accent colour (I have suggested Apple Green, Turquoise or Lilac and because the bride to be does not like colour - this may be the toughest part of the whole planning)
Venue:  On the hunt for a garden venue and have asked for 2 quotes so far. Option 1 is already booked for the day of their choice. Option 2 is pending.
Guest List: 24 people, this is going to be easy. The couple want to keep costs down so that they can use the money for a honeymoon.
Very clever indeed - I dont see a need for a wedding where you invite people you hardly know to be there. Weddings are just too expensive.
Flowers: Depending on the colour scheme - options at this stage are orchids or white tiger lillies
Dress: Bride likes simple - so we are off to Bride & Co in 2 weeks to try some dresses on!

I will begin designing invites soon and I cannot wait to start getting this party started!

Little Baby Noah

This is my little nephew Noah - the bigger he gets, the cuter he becomes

This past weekend I spent Easter at my folks and my brother, his fiancee and little Noah came to visit.
And we had a field day by putting bunny ears on him and taking photos - I love that his parents think it's as funny as we do. This is a tradition we plan to repeat every year!

The last photo - he looks so much like my brother, it is uncanny.

I just love holding him and bouncing him - I always thought that babies are scary - and they are - it is different when it is your own flesh and blood because I find that I am not intimidated by them.

If he cries, then he cries, his parents don't panic or think I have done something wrong.

Luckily Noah likes being in my arms - as long as I bounce him - he loves being bounced.

I am determined not to be one of those aunties that incessantly talks about her nephew, but I just had to show you guys how beautiful he is.

One of the cutest babies around.... Just saying.....
