  1. Tiger Lilys - I think they are so underrated
  2. Kittens - Even the newbies that look like rats. They are too precious.
  3. White Chocolate - Any kind. Aero, Dream, Milky Way

  11. Weekends - YEAH BABY!!!

Woza Friday everybody - have a great weekend.

This is Me # 34: Something random

    Ruby's - Parys

I adore this little restaurant nestled along the main road in Parys.

    Classy, interesting, luxurious.

Each table is decorated differently in rich colours and a variety of textures and designs delight your eye whichever way you look.
The decor is elegantly different and entertaining.

    The food? Simply Divine

    Random Thoughts

QT's birthday was at the end of August - we eventually decided on the perfect gift for him - a pair of Oakley Oil Rigs. A few of us pitched in and I get great discounts from my former boss and I could also put it on account so that I am not bankrupted.
After having worked in an optometry pracice for 9 years we got to see which glasses were great quality and which weren't.
We underwent training on Oakley, Nike, Ray Ban, Serengheti, Adidas to name a few.

It was our 7 month anniversary yesterday - and I forgot... again! that is 3 times in a row - yet he still loves me. How lucky am I?

Couples massage was my Sunday surprise from QT. We have both been under pressure and in need of some pampering - so he booked us a neck and back massgae as well as a foot and leg massage. He kept it a secret right up until Sunday morning when I made him tell me. Good thing too - I had to de-fuzz my underarms and legs, or else the poor therapist would have gotten her hands cut on my dangerous stubble!
It was heavenly and made me wish I had more time to lie there!

I resisted temptation on a shopping spree with my Tee. We had breakfast at Primi Piatti (hashbrown, bacon and cheese with cherry tomatoe stack - YUM) and then we went into every single Home store you can think of: Mr Price Home, @ Home, Boardmans, Woolworths, Coricraft.
Tee bought a gorgous butterfly duvet cover - I kept joking that it was tacky because I loved it so much. ;-)
She also bought lovely new bath towels and matching mat (the exact mat I had my eye on the previous week) as well as a stunning vase.
I didnt buy a single things - I am serious about trying to get out of debt. I have even explored the option of selling some of my things to try get extra money.
Kalahari.net have a second hand goods section. I am going to try it out and see if I can get better value on my items than I would at Cash Converters for instance.
So far my list includes 1 long suede leather jacket, black biking leather jacket, variety of CDS, 1 or 2 pairs of shoes that I bought and wore once but they hurt me. I even have unused balls of wool and a hair iron that has also never been used.

My Ear is very slowly clearing up - I have to be very careful with it. Got a recurrent infection, but this time I used my infamous Tea Tree oil and blasted it out in 2 days. (Me and my Tee Tree oil are another story all together)

My Marketing position is taking forever to be announced. I flew to Cape Town yesterday for a marketing meeting and thought it would be announced there.
I am in the process of interviewing more ladies for the PA position - even thought I want the lady I originally interviewed - my boss loved her but wants to see other options - the problem is that there are no other options out there. everybody thinks they can be a PA - but it isnt a job for you unless you are 1 tough bitch quite strong.
So I can't officially celebrate with yummy cocktails until I have been officially appointed - you never can tell what could happen.

Both my orchid plants are showing signs of new life. QT bought me 1 when I was sick with my kidneys and it has 5 new buds.
My other orchid is a year old and is starting a brand new shoot.
I am so excited! I adore orchids.
I want a white one next, although I saw the most beautiful yellow orchid too. decisions decisions (for when I win the Lotto one day)

Remember my post HERE about my friend Tee who bought a house and moved in with her new loser boyfriend?
Well, she admitted that she was wrong - after he kicked her door in, held her down and pinched her and broke every single glass thing she owns.
And she is still living with him - albeit now as housemates, they each have their own room.
But she is now shopping for a steel reinforced door to protect herself. WTF? W. T. F???
We have all spoken to her about leaving him, being in the same house is so dangerous, but she insists that the house is a great investment. (More important than your safety? I dont think so)
She says she is helping him get help from a professional. i reckon a frying pan to the side of the head should do the trick.
Wondering what the next challenge is? I am working on a slightly different type of challenge that I hope you will like.
    More details to follow soon.....

This is Me # 33: A painting or a mural

    Sistine Chapel

These photos were sneakily snapped on our visit to the Vatican City. Anyone caught taking photos was excorted out - the guards were very grumpy that day, but I couldn't sit there in awe and not have any photographic evidence :-p

Michelangelo was a great artist - these murals being a prime example.

    This is Me # 31: Architecture & 32: A book you're reading

    #31: Achitecture

I have always found buildings to be beautiful - their silence tells a story of the lives of people that have past before them. Their silence speaks of great joy, sorrow and nostalgia

    1. A Cathedral in London - and the name totally escapes me - anyone out there know its name?
    2. The Cathedral of S. Maria del Fiore - Florence Italy. Built from subtly coloured marble
    3. The bapistry and Cathedral in the forground with the Leaning Tower of Pisa in the background - beautiful architecture. Construction of the tower of Pisa began in 1173 and went on for 177 years
    # 32: A book you're reading

I must be very honest - I have been reading this book forever and I am really not enjoying it.
I have never not finished a book, so I am forcing my way through it.

Has anyone else out there read it? Your opinion?

Uniquely Me - Coffee Rings & Other Things

Today I would like to introduce you to a lady I found through a blog, through a blog!

This lady's blog calms me and she has some lovely ideas as well.

Welcome to Cape Town based Architect: Zeanne from Coffee Rings & Other Things:

1: What made you start your blog?

I started Coffee Rings for a number of reasons, I wanted to learn more about the creative world of blogging, I wanted to meet fellow bloggers and I wanted to feel like I had a piece of “Cyber space” were I was allowed to collect what inspired me! I’ve loved blogging and Ive loved connecting to other bloggers who have introduced me to so many cool places, images and thoughts!

2: What is your favourite colour?

My favourite colour is definitely Grey, I find it moody, calm and strange. I love different shades of grey and its oyster-like tones.

3: If stuck on a deserted island & you were allowed 1 outfit - what would it be?
Wow, this is a hard question, I’d want my espadrilles, a beautiful Kakhoi and a maybe a few nautical striped t-shirts, just to keep up with current trends… haha, I don’t know… definitely my espadrilles though!

4: If a movie was made about your life story - who would play you and
who would play your love interest?

I want to be played by Charlize, Ive always thought she was beautiful and she’s South African and tall! For my love interest I’d pay Roger Federer to quit tennis and become involved in his first movie, Being Zeanne, where he would be my huge love romance!

5: What is the best bargain you have ever bought at an auction

A beautiful, old, working type writer for R10, it’s mint green, in mint condition and I love it!

6: Tell us your favourite joke

Ok- here it goes, never typed a joke before, but every time I hear this joke, I laugh so hard,
    So, here it goes:
There was a lizard taking a strole down the jungle path one day
It wasn’t long before he came to a tree, and he heard hysterical laughing coming from its branches.
He looked up, and in the tree he saw Monkey.
So Lizard shouted to Monkey, “Yo monkey, what’s so funny, you look like you having a great time!”
Monkey replied: “hey Lizard, yip, dude, I’m having the time of my life, come up here and join me.”
So the lizard slowly started to climb the tree to get to Monkey
When he got up, he realized Monkey was smoking some of “the good stuff”, Monkey persuaded lizard to join him in his puffs….
After a while Monkey and Lizard were completely goofed at the top of the tree, crying with laughter at their own jokes. Lizard then turned to Monkey and says in a slow, goofed voice : “wow, Bru, you know I’m lank thirsty, I might take a wander down to the river and have a drink.”
And with that, Lizard slowly made his way down the tree and too the river….
At the River, Lizard sits on the side of the bank, still laughing at what he sees and having a really great time and along came crocodile.
Croc, says to lizard: “wow, lizard, you look like u goofed, were did you get the good-stuff?”  so Lizard tells croc to take a walk to the tree with Monkey in.
Croc take a strole, get to the tree, and calls up, “Yo Monkey”…
And Monkey looks down, sees croc and shouts back
“wow, lizard, far-out, dude… how much water did you drink?!!!”

7: Are you a morning person or a night owl?
I am most productive in the morning, BUT I hate being woken up before I choose to wake up. I love a good night excursion and some fun, but sleeping is a favourite past-time too!

8: What do you obsess over?

Chocolate and Italian type food, as well as sushi!

9: If you were in the circus, which character would you be?

Trapeze artist… or a flame thrower! … AH- or- this one, a sexy lion tamer! Very cool… My 21st theme was ‘Circus” I love the colours, the magic and the Drama!

    10: Shoes or handbags?

HANDBAGS! Love them, love the smell of beautiful leather, love the designs, the details, the space and the way they just completely transform and outfit! I Love handbags, and mine really contains everything and the kitchen sink!
