High Tea - Because I'm a lady!

I recently treated my friend to a High Tea at Budmarsh Lodge (same place as our recent picnic) for her birthday.
Budmarsh made that much of an impression of me, I needed an excuse to go back.

Beautiful Tea Set

As before, the service was efficient, unobtrusive and friendly.
We were escorted to a table set for 2,elegantly set out on the lawns overlooking the wide open gardens and the lake in the background.
We were offered Sherry or Iced Tea and then placed an order for our tea of choice. Not being a tea-drinker, I was hesitant, until I saw that most of the choices were Infusions, variants of fruity flavours. I decided to try some.  I enjoyed it so much that I finished the entire pot - all 1L of it.

Tea Choices
Our eats consisted of a healthy serving of dainty finger sandwiches (cucumber, salmon and egg salad), delicious little home made scones with whipped cream, home-made strawberry jam and grated cheese & sun-dried tomato quiche and a variety of tartlets that had us drooling.

Delicious nibbles

We ate as many as we could before our stomach's realised that we were full, but we still didn't manage to eat everything.

The food is freshly prepared and you can taste it as it tickles the taste buds with a promise of more.

As the heat was just about to become overbearing, a mid afternoon shower cooled us down. The summer shower created a beautiful picture as we sat under or umbrella watching the water drizzle down around us, illuminating the grass and trees in a rich, vibrant green.

To top it all, 3 little ducks came waddling past us singing a song (I told my friend it was a Happy Birthday song in her honour)

Breathing in deeply, I recall smiling to myself and wishing I was a really well off lady who attended high teas every week.

A lady can dream!

Take your mom, sister or best friend for this High Tea as a treat, she will love you for it.
