Birthday Party for Zomato

It's been a long time since I was at an actual party.
Live band and DJ, catered food and free drinks with a spectacular dessert table.

Tomato recently celebrated their 7th birthday party at their offices and we had an absolute blast.

Give us some props and watch us all act the fools! There was a camera crew there and while interviews were being conducted, we all took turns to camera-bomb. The videographer called us all camera-whores. He has seen it all I guess!

I was walking around looking for someone, when I saw a group of people taking photos - so I casually bombed the photo - I wish I could be there when they see it!

As I have mentioned in previous posts - these are some of the awesome people I am meeting on my foodie journeys.

Jade and I are fast becoming #FoodieFriends and we seem to have a ton of stuff in common, except for the fact that she goes to the gym ... and I don't!

Claudz is the reason I joined Zomato - I will always be grateful to her for introducing me to the foodie world - and she will be the person I blame because my clothes don't fit me anymore! :-D

Dani is a new friend I have met - we have an agreement whereby we are not allowed judging each other for music tastes (she is a Swiftie, I am a Directioner)

Thank you to Zomato for having us, I really had a wonderful time!

6 Tips for Foodies

Being a foodie means you are invited to some pretty awesome events and you get to eat delicious food.
Foodies have the same interests and we do not judge each other when we take some photos of our food before eating.
Foodies shine our torch cellphone light onto dishes to enable other foodies to take well-lit photos.
Foodies understand our struggle of a ruined background due to a random plate or serviette. (#FoodieProblems)

Here are some of the more important things I have learnt in my short time as a (female) foodie.
  1. Always carry a power bank with you
Your phone quickly loses charge due to all the tweeting, photographing and light shining you will be doing. Ensure that you share the love on social media. It's the least you could do in return for a complimentary meal.
  2. Keep a hairbrush and small make-up bag in your car
Sounds like common sense, but I have been caught with the wrong handbag with nothing in it. In case you are not able to get home in time to freshen up. I have been stuck in traffic and had to turn around to go straight to the restaurant wishing I had a chance to re-apply some make-up.
  3. Dress in layers
Even in winter, the restaurants tend to be very hot. You are with a large group of people and the energy levels are high, you will get hot. Make sure you are wearing layers. It will be easier to remove the jacket and the cardigan than sweltering in your jersey.
  4. Go hungry
You will be eating a lot of food, make sure you have space to fit it all in.
  5. Be respectful
You have been invited by a company who have gone out of their way to make your evening enjoyable. Don't be demanding and definitely be respectful of the waiters.
  6. Be honest
Write an honest review, but try to be objective. The restaurant can use your positive criticism constructively and make improvements. Snarky comments damage your reputation and are pointless.
If you were taking multiple photos of your food, expect it to have cooled down a bit. Don't blame the restaurant.
Do you have any advice for other foodies out there?

Foodie fun & great people

Life is about people, experiences & laughter.

Over the past few days; I have been attending quite a few foodie events & besides eating some delicious food, I have been meeting some pretty awesome people.

I have eaten so much, drank so much & laughed even more!

Sitting around a table, talking about food & laughing our heads off, you are reminded of a very important fact.
We are all people. Regardless of our financial status, we are the same underneath. We have feelings & hopes & dreams.

Life is not about the cars we drive or how much money we have.

Enjoy the life that you are given, you make it awesome. If you are going through a tough time, hold onto your strength & lean on your support network.
You will be ok in the end. Trust in your faith. Trust in yourself.

On the foodie note - my friend Claudz has asked me to become a full time editor for her awesome blog Tables & Thyme.
I am really excited about this opportunity & I look forward to sharing my foodie adventures with you.

De-Cluttering

I am a hoarder sentimental. I like to save things that have a special meaning. Be it a teddy bear from a friend to a game I had as a child, I can't let go.

What if that game I had as a child is worth something one day? What if, what if, what if.

The reality is; I do not have space for everything. When I moved 2 years ago, I was forced to get rid of a lot of clutter and sentimental items, and I survived.
