Christmas 2012 recap

I realise that you are all most probably in the full swing of 2013, so please forgive me for my veeeeerrrryyyy late Christmas holiday recap post!

My December holidays weren't exactly as I had planned them, but I had the 2 weeks off from work, which was the most important for me.

I worked until 21 December and had the weekend to put up my Christmas tree & inject some Christmas spirit into my house.

I did some shopping for Christmas presents and ended up spoiling myself - thank goodness for Edgars accounts - and bought myself a new Gemini nomination link (more to follow on my Nomination bracelet soon) and a lovely across-shoulder bag to go out with when I don't need my 10kg artillary regular handbag.

Christmas was really enjoyable for us because my nephew is almost 2 years old and now able to enjoy the Christmas presents so much more.
He is a very well-behaved child and has a very sweet nature - I am so proud of my brother and sister in law, they are doing a great job with him.

Mom says that when he visits them, Noah sees my photo in a frame and carries it around with him - BLESS!

I surprised myself when I actively sought him out to play with him and I enjoy the time with him because he appeals to my inner-child. I still do not feel the need to become a mother just yet - at 34, I have been told I will feel my biological clock ticking... perhaps the batteries are dead.

After Christmas I was stung by a bee & turned into Princess Fiona/Shrek. It was not pretty and I was princess-down for almost a week. The swelling went past my wrist and I was literally stung in passing, the stinger had not even gone past the top layer of skin in my little finger. Talk about bad luck.....

After I recovered from the sting, I contracted a stomach virus which had me unable to even hold a glass of water down.
To live up to it's reputation of happening in threes, a close friendship of mine came to an end.

Despite all this, I am feeling quite positive for the new year.

I have my Twenty Wishes list and my new home to look forward to this year. It cannot possibly be a dull year!

I'm a Lucky Girl

A small act of kindness really is priceless to the person on the receiving end

Warning: Shameless name-dropping below.

I am lucky enough to work with 2 Parlotones members' father.

I have met them and hung out backstage at a show with them - the drummer Neil even brought me a drink!

With all their success, they are re-locating to Los Angelos to hit the US music scene. I joked with "dad" the other day that I wanted to date Glen, he is my favourite.

The date request was unsuccessful - however, Glen signed a dvd of their videos for me! yay!!

I can proudly add this to my limited edition clock which is a LP (record) single mounted onto a wooden base

I was touched when "Dad" gave me both gifts because knowing he must get requests all the time, I have never asked for anything. He is a very shy, humble man, making these gifts just so much more special.

Travel Wish List

Happy new year everybody!  I hope that 2013 is YOUR year!

Besides working on my Twenty Wishes,  I have been thinking alot about the travel part.  These holidays made me dream about all the wonderful places I should've been spending my free time in!

Tee and I are both avid travellers and luckily we love most of the same places.  We've been chatting about all the places we want to visit,  so we decided to make a list of our Top 10.

It's not as easy as you would think!  With so many places I still want to explore,  I'm also dying to go back to some of them.

1. Peru to follow the Inca Trails
2. Prague - Czech Republic
3. New York (I only spent 4 days and it wasn't enough)
4. Italy/ Paris in the summer- Venice especially . I listed them together because they are so close together (I've been winter time)
5. Malta
6. Croatia
7. Greek Islands
8. California / Las Vegas
9. Somewhere pretty and "islandy" relaxing like The Seychelles
10. Russia,  I think that would be interesting!

Extra travel locations:
I'd love to see more castles in Scotland and Ireland would be pretty.
The carnivals in Venice,  Rio De Janeiro and New Orleans must be amazing to experience as well!

I have some dilemmas though:
I would love to be in New York for New Years,  but I want to explore Central Park,  which is best to do in the summer,  which means I have to go back to New York twice!
I've been through Europe in the winter time,  so I'd like to go in summer,  however,  the Christmas period would be a lovely time to spend in Europe....  another area requiring 2 visits.
I'm definitely not rich enough for all this travelling!!!!!

So much travel,  so little money!

Bad Lip Reading- Twilight

This had me in stitches!  Sniggering like a crazy person at 5am. They also did a spoof of a One Direction music video and made it into a Foreign Film.

Whether you're a fan of Twilight,  or hate it,  you will enjoy this!  :-D

JB Convert?

Hello, my name is Flirty30 and I am... cough... a closet... cough... Justin Bieber fan

I can already hear the groans of my readers out there...

I have to make a confession... I have always liked his Music. My ipod has most of his hits - I especially like the songs he sings with other artists like Usher and Jaden Smith etc.
I have recently heard alot about his documentary - Never Say Never - people who don't like him have been saying how good it was, so the other day I hired it.

Wow. I must admit, I had no idea who JB really was except for being that kid with the annoying girly voice. I have a new appreciation for how hard he worked at his dream and he actually is a naturally gifted guy.
What really made me respect him  was the kindness he shows his fans - handing out free tickets, writing to them on Twitter etc.

I have gone from disliking him, to respecting him. He is a little arrogant for my tastes still - my One Direction boys are proper, decent, down to earth guys - but I cannot say that I don't like JB anymore.

Who saw this coming....... I didn't!
