When I'm dead...

... what happens to my social media accounts?

Such a morbid thought.

Will my followers know I am dead? How will they know? Will 1 of my friends pick up my phone and post an update on Facebook and Twitter?
What would it say? "Hi, I am dead, no need to follow this account anymore"
Thank goodness that we are permanently logged in on our phones, otherwise how would a person guess our passwords to deactivate an account.

A friend of mine was killed in a plane accident in 2013. I have written on his Facebook wall for his birthday and once or twice when I miss him.
What is the point though?

I think I need to leave a stipulation in my will:
Tee, please leave a message on Facebook and Twitter for all my followers & have Nifty250 print my Instagram photos for my friends and family and then deactivate the account.

While we are on last requests: Please remove the folders titles PVT on my hard drives. (Along with that box)

Have a look at Amanda's account. She used to moan about work, and then she was diagnosed with brain cancer. Suddenly the tweets became a running commentary of her life as time is running out. How sad is that?

Shit My Dad Says

Blog everyday in May - Day 26: Something you read online. Leave a link and discuss, if you’d like.

I don't spend a lot of time researching the internet and reading articles online. But this is a good story:

I follow this guy on Twitter: @ShitmyDadsays but he hasn't posted in months.
His dad has some funny ways of looking at life:

"I like babies, just saying they live inside a host body and feed off it. That's a parasite...Yes, I could raise a tape worm and love it."
"We ain't a sharp species. We kill each other over arguments about what happens when you die, then fail to see the fucking irony in that."
"Bullshit. War ain't over till people stop shooting. You can't say you're done taking a crap if shit's still coming out of your ass."

Anyway, while looking to see when he last posted, I came across this article in GQ Magazine - worth a read because he makes an extremely valid point:
Challenges Remaining:
Day 27, Monday: A letter to your readers
Day 28, Tuesday: Only pictures
Day 29, Wednesday: Five songs or pieces of music that speak to you or bring back memories. UseGrooveshark or YouTube to include them in the post
Day 30, Thursday: React to this term: Letting Go
Day 31, Friday: A vivid memory

  4. I am obsessed with hot gorgeous men - yes I am a pervert. Ian Somerhalder - please marry me?? I am willing to have babies if they look like you!!
  5. Speaking of babies - my nephew has to come early due to his heart rate being too high - I will be an Aunty on Tuesday.... perhaps some baby instinct buried deep inside me will come out.
  6. I am still not sure if I really like Twitter - the only reason I am on it is to stalk follow my future husband Ian Somerhalder
  7. I  like walking around in various states of undress - something I can look forward to continue doing now that I am going to be living on my own again
  8. I love my Blackberry
