Holiday Snaps - Part 2

Day 2 was a chock a block day of wine tasting & tipsiness.

Quoin Rock was a nice surprise as they had a "Secret Society" type room complete with round table in a round room, only lit with candles. The only natural light is from the oculus above that casts an eery glow on the table below.
Each alcove has something new - I would love to be able to host a function there.

The Oculus - Very "secret society"
Muratie was so old, the cobwebs looked like pieces of chiffon draped everywhere. They even had the original Title Deed on the wall from 1699!
Muratie - a really oooold wine estate

Bet it looked like this in the 1600's
From olden days to posh estates - Waterford is where you expect to see horses & polo players accompanied by woman with huge hats.
We experienced an orgasmic wine & chocolate pairing & I finally saw how food and wine can compliment each other

The wine & Chocolate pairing gives you Turkish Delight!

Happy on Wine!

Clearly.... tired, not tipsy
A set menu followed at Dornier and gave new meaning to the phrase "lazy lunch"  Service was a bit slow and if it weren't for the fact that we were drunk, we might have been more content to relax, but I think we were afraid of falling asleep at our table
Dornier - lunchtime
This is a favourite of mine and i think if I had to get married at a wine estate (seeing as Waterford is a private venue) I would choose Asara.

The function area overlooks the lake and it is just too beautiful.
They also have the nicest macaroons - I bought 1 in each colour and a scoffed them all that night!
Asara

Asara - perfect for weddings

Urban Dictionary: "Flirty"

While researching something for another post, I came across the definition of my name* on Urban Dictionary.

How funny is this:

1."Flirty"88 up18 down
The perfect girlfriend. Flawless, amazing, beautiful and kind in any way. Any guy wants her, and the guy that gets her never wants to let her go. She is a family girl, always there for her friends, and always there to give her love to her boy. Any body in the world would be lucky to have such an angel.
When you find a "flirty", never let her go.

2."Flirty" 90 up32 down
It’s that feeling when you are in a crowded room and you notice that extraordinary person making an effortless and graceful entrance that grabs the attention of every eye. When she glances in your direction, your heart skips a beat, and your palms begin to sweat. You hope she doesn't see you, but inside, you hope she does. You initially think she's unapproachable because you would be at a loss for words; however, you are drawn to her presence and sheer elegance.
Wow, that girl can "flirty" a room

OMG, Bob Is Such A "Flirty". :|
*"Flirty" used to protect my reputation!

Holiday Snaps - Pt 1

Once again over the next few days I am going to bombard you with a few snaps from my 4 day long break in the Cape.
It was a small break with Tee, but exactly what I needed, as I was ready to kill somebody - seriously.
We did some touristy things like the Red Hop On Hop Off buses you can find all over the world and we visited the wine farms & went up Table Mountain.
When I am there I always find myself asking why I don't relocate there. The people are laid-back, The scenery is gorgeous and the sea is there!
Yet, here I am... still in Jhb!

Enjoy my pictures of Camps Bay & the Aquarium!

Walking Away - With Dignity

I am going out on a limb here and saying that my woman's intuition is slapping me across the back of the head, telling me to see the signs & move on.
I think I am officially being ignored. Its been over a week since I last heard from Iron Man.

A week is a long time - so I am going to do what every self-respecting woman does.... and walk away.

I always tell my friends to maintain their dignity and I am going to follow my own advice.

I cannot waste my time on a person who does not want me the same way I want them.
I must admit, I am sad about it, but let's face it, just because I developed a soft spot for him, doesn't mean it wasn't just sex for him - and that's how it was supposed to be.

I don't have any regrets & it is something I will always look back on & smile. (and besides, thanks to my gynae trip today - I will not be doing anything for a while now!)

I am R1000 poorer & in less pain, but at least in 2 or 3 days I will be able to walk like a normal person again and not be in constant agony thanks to Mr Bartholin! (Think this is karma's way of paying me back)

Mr Bartholin rears his ugly head - literally

If you have read this blog for a while, you will know of Mr Bartholin and how it plagues my cookie life.
Last year just before Thailand I had the emergency aspirating procedure and was supposed to go back for the actual operation upon my return.
I didn't.
The procedure is simply too painful and I cannot handle the slow, painful recovery. So I have left it.
It has come back with a vengeance & sitting on the plane to Cape Town for a short holiday break last week Wednesday, I was in agony.
I finally go to the gynae today and will have to undergo yet another aspiration, sans anaesthetic.
We are then booking the operation for next or the following week and I will be flat on my back for Easter.
I have so much work to do, so this will be a great way to recover and not lose too much work time.
Wish me luck - this aspiration is a bitch
